We always begin with a consultation to ensure Laser Genesis is suitable for you and going to provide the results you are looking for.
HOW MANY TREATMENTS DO I NEED?
The number of treatments you need will depend the current condition of your skin and desired results. Most clients typically require 4 to 6 treatments spaced out 2 – 4 weeks apart. Although the individual treatment results are subtle, the overall effect of a treatment series can be quite dramatic. Improvements are gradual and will be seen over a period of few treatments. Results will continue to improve for months after the last treatment. To sustain results over time, ongoing maintenance treatments are encouraged.
WHAT ARE THE POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS?
Because the Laser Genesis procedure is non-invasive, you may notice a slight redness immediately after treatment which will resolve within a few hours. Since there is no downtime, you can apply sunscreen and makeup and return to your normal daily activities immediately.
WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME FROM LASER GENESIS?
No downtime is required after a Laser Genesis treatment; patients can immediately return to work or daily activities. Clients may experience mild redness or skin irritation, but this will subside after about an hour. There are also no restrictions on exercise or strenuous activities.
HOW DO I PREPARE FOR MY LASER GENESIS TREATMENT?
Prior to your appointment, you are required to do the following:
- If you have hair growth in the treatment area (even “peach fuzz”), shave or dermaplane 24 hours before your appointment. Waxing and/or using a depilatory is not recommended for one week before Laser Genesis.
- Stop using AHA/BHA acids or Retinol products a week before your treatment.
- Stop tanning and avoid sun exposure 3-4 weeks before treatment to avoid hyperpigmentation.
- Because a laser procedure can trigger cold sores or a herpes outbreak, talk to your doctor about antiviral medication that you can take before your session.
HOW LONG DO LASER GENESIS RESULTS LAST?
Results from an initial series of treatments can last anywhere from 6 to 12 months.
Some people have Laser Genesis treatments as frequently as once a month to maintain their results, but this depends on your skin and the issues you’re tackling. Fading of acne scars and age spots should be long-lasting, if the treatment is combined with medical-grade skin care, sunscreen, and regular facials.
Your lifestyle plays an important part in your skin’s health and upkeep. You can extend results from the Laser Genesis treatment by limiting sun exposure and wearing an SPF 30+ sunscreen year-round, exercising regularly, and committing to a medical-grade skin-care regimen.
